Help a Grandmother Rebuild After Online Harassment and Job Loss.

Hi, my name is Darleen Oneal, and I never thought I’d be here—asking for help at 61 years old.
I’ve spent my life working hard, raising children and grandchildren, and doing my best to live with honesty and dignity. My life hasn't been perfect, yet every moment made me the loving person I am today. But one moment at work—and one viral video—changed everything.

I was an Assistant Manager at 7-Eleven for over 12 years. I’ve been a huge part of this community as my children and grandchildren grew up here. I even had an agreement with many of the neighborhood kids and parents: bring me good grades, and I’ll pay for your Slurpees and candy.

I’m not well off by any means—I’m a minimum wage worker—but the joy I feel from this community is what keeps me going.

One day, a group of popular influencers came into the store trying to film (SteveWillDoIt, Vitaly, and others I don’t know). Per store policy—clearly set by the owner and my manager—filming without prior approval was not allowed. I explained that it’s a privately owned store and asked them to leave. I was simply doing my job, or I’d be fired. Either way, I ended up having to leave my job and the relationships I’d built over the past 30+ years I've lived around this neighborhood.

Before they left, I was verbally abused while they filmed. Then they posted a video online that twisted the truth.
They called me a racist (I have African American children and grandchildren), accused me of terrible things I never said or did, and claimed I was on drugs—which I’ve never touched in my life.

Then came the fallout:
• My name, workplace, and home address were leaked online
• My job’s phone rang nonstop with threats
• Strangers showed up at the store
• Customers heckled me—even spat at me
• My grandchildren were harassed by their peers
• I was publicly humiliated—just for doing my job.

Eventually, I had to resign. I’ve lived in fear and shame for over a year now. I finally moved on to another company after being jobless for some time. But I’ve had to transfer stores multiple times after being recognized. This new job is now in jeopardy as they try to accommodate me, due to these men inciting a mob against me.

This is truly a sad situation. I don't understand these kids nowadays. It's not right.
I’m done crying. I’m reaching out to the world. Please help me.

I’m trying to rebuild my life from the ground up.

I’m asking for help with:
• Finding a safe new place to live
• Covering basic living expenses while I get back on my feet
• Possibly securing legal help and emotional support to protect my name and future.

This has taken a massive emotional toll. But I’m still here, still fighting—because cyberbullying has to stop. No one should have their life ruined for following the rules at work. Not a mother, not a grandmother, not anyone.

What happened to respecting the elderly? I’m a senior citizen just trying to survive in this world.
